Nic's Profile Photo

One of many late nights spent photoshopping Michael’s head onto various things.

Nic is a 21 year-old student from Aberdeen, studying Computing for Internet and Multimedia at the Robert Gordon University. He is currently in his final (honours) year before graduation.

Nic is responsible for the visual style of The Beard Network. He also created most, if not all the images used on the website. He is the artist of ‘Players’, and occasionally joins the video production team, in either a solo or assisting role. He is sarcastic, angry and generally disappointed with most things and people.

In 2011, Nic started a gaming blog called ‘Press “Start” to Play!’. After a couple of simple posts and reviews, he invited Jack to share writing duties. Eventually the idea to create an accompanying webcomic arose, and thus ‘Players’ was born. Unfortunately ‘Press “Start” to Play!’ and ‘Players’ slowed to a halt. After a lengthy hiatus from productivity, Nic invited the rest of the crew to start a new endeavour – The Beard Network.

Nic is primarily a PC gamer, having given in to the temptation of bigger, better and cheaper games. He attends LAN parties several times per year, most notably BreachLAN in Aberdeenshire. He still keeps his Xbox 360 close by, however. He grew up a die-hard Nintendo fan but ultimately lost interest shortly into the Nintendo Wii’s lifespan, due to the lack of “hardcore” games. He favours first-person-shooters, and his favourite games include (but aren’t limited to) Team Fortress 2, Rock Band 3, Halo Reach, Mass Effect 3Sonic Adventure 2 and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. He is the president of the RGU Electronic Gaming Society, where he befriended Marty and Michael.

When not playing videogames, Nic can be found playing pen-and-paper RPGs such as Pathfinder and Dark Heresy, watching anime, browsing Reddit, and very occasionally making music.
